Centuries ago, his ancestor fell in love with a woman cursed by a jealous witch. No one believed him until it was too late. Eric Fontalvo was determined to prove one thing... that a family curse didn't cause his father's death.

The plan was working until the day he found her...again. Suddenly his life changes forever, and he is forced to question everything he believes.

Moving into an old plantation house was just what Tandie Harrison needed to recover from tragedy. So she writes a book, a story based on a man in her dreams. There's only one problem though... the characters from her novel keep showing up on her doorstep.

And then she finds a diary written hundreds of years ago.

As if that isn't strange enough, she meets him...the man from her dream, someone who reawakens her psychic power along with something else from long ago.

Can Eric and Tandie's love destroy the force keeping them apart? Or will darkness win again?

Hacienda Moon is a new classic tale of two lovers crossing time. A seductive tale of one woman's journey to confront the demons of her past and to find the courage to face her future. It is a mesmerizing novel that explores the deepest depths of human nature, and the characters will hold and haunt you long after you have read the final chapter.

KaSonndra was born in the race-car city of Charlotte, NC, and now live in the City of Alchemy and Medicine, NC, when she’s not hanging out in Bardonia (Lost Immortals Saga setting). Does this freak her out? Not really. Her mom says that one day she’ll get kidnapped by one of these folks. KaSonndra’s response? She told her mom that if it weren’t for these lovely people, then she wouldn’t be able to create such fabulously romantic stories.

A few other tidbits about KaSonndra… She has watched the movie Under the Tuscan Sun almost 200 times. This is her explanation regarding her obsession. She figures that if she keeps watching the film enough times, then suddenly the house that Diane Lane lives in will magically appear in her backyard. Yes! KaSonndra has a huge imagination!

    Author Bio:
Jennifer is a freelance writer and novelist. As a freelancer, she writes everything from technical manuals to articles on personal finance and European-style board games. Her interest in storytelling began when she was six and her parents gave her a typewriter for Christmas and agreed to pay her $.01 per page for any stories she churned out. Such a loose payment system naturally led to a lot of story padding. Broken Fate, her first novel, earned her $2.80 from her parents.
Jennifer lives in North Carolina and, when not writing, can often be found reading, trawling the shelves at the library, playing board games, watching sports, camping, running marathons, and playing with her dog. You can visit her at her official website:www.JenniferDerrick.com.

Book Review: DEATH DOLL by Brian P. White

The Death Doll

Title: Death Doll
Author: Brian P White
Category/genre: Adult Apocolyptic
My Star Rating: 4/5

Goodreads Blurb:

Didi was once the darling of the porn industry, baring it all for the world on the silver screen.

Then came the zombie apocalypse.

Two years later, she’s killing every flesh-eating corpse in her path to protect a group of unlikely survivors in northwest Iowa. Unfortunately, she hides a terrifying secret that threatens every life she defends. For nothing left on Earth that creeps or crawls is as lethal as The Death Doll.

My Review:

This was an awesome story, packed with action and a fresh twist on the zombie genre.  A kick-ass heroine who's technically dead, but dedicated to protecting the living?  Genius.  I loved how she clung to her remaining humanity for dear life, yet was perfectly honest with herself about the struggle her unique position presented her with.  She wasn't a martyr to her circumstance, she owned it.  If the story had been solely focused on her, I think it would've been a total home run. To me, she was the one character who was truly fleshed out.  The others lacked the same depth, and frankly I think there were too many secondary characters to keep track of. I frequently found myself having to stop reading to think back about who we were talking about and what their position/backstory was.  All in all, killer zombie story!

Before this current age of broadcasting acquisitions and mergers, local TV stations were owned by the broadcasters, not investment firms. They lived to tell the stories of their communities. In Murder at Broadcast Park, the CBS station located in the rich resort town of Santa Barbara becomes it’s own story. “We never want to be our own news,” was the mandate from Barry Burke, the station’s news director. Except in this case, people are dying. With three murders, more affairs, but no suspects, investigators peer behind the scenes of the local news. Pull the veil off to find twists, turns, and secrets behind the scenes of this resort TV station and its cast of TV professionals. Nothing is off limits.

Book Review: HOW I MAGICALLY MESSED UP MY LIFE IN FOUR FREAKIN DAYS by Megan O'Russell

32231955

Title: How I Magically Messed Up My Life In Four Freakin' Days
Author: Megan O'Russell
Category/genre: Young Adult Fantasy
My Star Rating: 4/5

Goodreads Blurb:

Ever wanted to grow a five-story tall flower in central park? How about fight a deadly battle under the subway tunnels of Manhattan?

Don't worry. I never wanted to either. But if you're ever being chased by ladies made of mist and you have to save the girl with the sparkly eyes you've never had the guts to say actual words to, there's an app for that.

I found a magic cell phone, opened an app I shouldn't have, burned down the set shop for my high school's theatre, and it was all downhill from there. A drag queen seer who lives under a bridge is my only hope for keeping my mom alive, and I think the cops might be after me for destroying my dad's penthouse.

But it gets better! Now I'm stuck being the sidekick to the guy who got me into this mess in the first place. It'll be a miracle if I survive until Monday.

My Review:

This was such a fun, relevant book for all the socially awkward kids out there! I was one of them back *mumbles* years ago, so I get the need to believe that one day you're going to wake up and be the star of your own story.  The hero,  Bryant Adams, gets that chance when he finds a magical cell phone that only works for magical special folk and -to his surprise- he is one! I loved how the girl he's had had is eye on forever just happens to get pulled into the mess so she gets a chance to see just how special he really is... really, every weird-teen's fantasy, isn't it?  The style of story-telling is unique and entertaining.  Very comical and sarcastic, which for a young adult book is perfect. I do feel, however, that this would've been better with slightly younger characters. It read a little borderline middle school/high school to me instead of 17ish, where the heroine should be a tad more mature.
