Blog Tour: DELIVERANCE by Kristy Centeno

Paranormal/YA/NA/Urban Fantasy/Thriller
Date Published: March 19, 2016
Publisher: Inkspell Publishing

He’s been locked away his entire life.
He dreams of freedom.
The only way he can accomplish his goals is by breaking free of the chains tying him to a dark past and gloomy existence. But there’s one catch. He’s not human.
And he’s never set foot outside his jail.

Devoted to saving his peers as well as his own life, he sets out to find the one person that can help him achieve his objectives. He knows where she will be and what she will look like, but what he doesn’t anticipate is the fact he finds himself caring for the girl whose life he’s put at risk, more and more each day.

He has no name.
He has only known hatred and violence before her.
However, she will teach him to have faith in humanity, even if she can’t trust him.
Together they will embark on a journey to bring down a corrupt system responsible for the loss of many innocent lives. But when he finds his feelings compromised, can he still move on knowing that doing so will put an end to the life she once knew? How far is he willing to go to be free?

 Excerpt:

I pull open the driver’s-side door, only to have it brusquely shut by a rather large, pale hand. Startled by the suddenness of the man’s appearance, I shift to my left and come eye to eye with a bulky-looking individual with dark brown eyes, and a scar that traces a fine line from his upper lip all the way down to his chin.
“Don’t attract attention, missy.” He sneers at me.
I glance down at the feel of something hard poking my ribcage and find, much to my horror, that he’s leveled a gun at my stomach. Most of the weapon is concealed by a khaki trench coat he wears.
“Keep your pretty little mouth shut and all will sail smoothly,” he warns, standing rigidly beside me. He glances briefly over the roof of the truck. “Tiger. Hello there, my dear old friend. Didn’t take you long to make friends, huh?”
I grow stiff. So these are the psychos that are after Tiger.

Promo Blitz: CAREFUL WHAT YOU ASK FOR by Candace Blevins

Paranormal Romance
Date Published: September 23, 2016
Publisher: eXcessica Publishing

When a wolf mates with a human, the child is nearly always a wolf. Briana was raised as a werewolf, but then puberty hit and she never changed. She’s persuaded a few wolves to bite her, but it never took. At nineteen, she’s going to give it a final try. This time, she’ll ask someone who was bitten instead of being born to it, to see if it makes a difference.

She grew up welcome in the Pack until she was branded a human. Her developing teenage psyche was wounded by their rejection, and she holds nothing but ill will for the Pack and all it stands for. However, it’s fine for a human to glare at the Alpha and tell him he isn’t the boss of her. Trying it as a wolf is another story. She’s determined to make a go of it as a lone wolf, but Randall — the local Alpha — has other ideas, despite the fact she’s property of his brother’s motorcycle club.

Briana was raised to be a werewolf and she finally feels whole, but the transition is different for everyone. She understands supernatural politics, but she’s going to have to maneuver through the highest levels of them as a brand new wolf still struggling for control.

Excerpt:

Maggie had told me what she expected me to do before she’d changed into her wolf, so now I lay on the forest floor, buck-naked and spread eagle.
I’ve been bitten before so I knew the pain I was about to feel, and it took every ounce of my resolve to remain in place as the medium sized wolf sniffed me all over. My legs wanted to kick and then jump up and run, my hands wanted to protect my face from her, and my heart felt as if it were trying to escape my chest — but I held my breath and forced myself to stay frozen.
If this didn’t work I wasn’t sure I’d try again, but I had to give it one final attempt. I’d been raised knowing I was a wolf. I’d always felt her inside me, but then she never showed herself and I was labeled a human when I’d had my period for a year and hadn’t changed.
But my self-identity never changed. I’m a human who identifies as a wolf, but if this didn’t work — I’d have to find a way to accept my humanity.
I gasped when she bit my left thigh, held my breath while she mangled my right thigh, and couldn’t hold in my screams when her teeth tore into the skin and muscle of my left shoulder.
I’d told her where to bite me, but I hadn’t told her she could just go straight in and out without ripping. The wolf’s natural instincts are to tear as they bite, and fuck it hurt. If this didn’t turn me I was going to be scarred something awful.
She must have realized how bad she’d hurt me, because she was a little more gentle with my right shoulder, but it still hurt like hell.
Finally, Maggie’s wolf backed up a half-dozen steps and went to the ground, her eyes on me so intense it was unnerving, but I already smelled of pain and blood and I wasn’t sure how much control she had, so I tried my hardest not to be afraid.
Everything’s hazy past that point. I remember hurting, remember thrashing in the dirt, but it was days later before I have any memory of being fully in my human brain again.

Blog Tour: BROOD X by Michael Phillip Cash

Found Footage, Horror, Apocalypse
Date Published: May 4, 2013
Publisher: Chelshire, INC.

Seth is laid off from work. His wife Lara just found out they are expecting a baby this summer. Seth plans on documenting the entire pregnancy with his brand new digital camcorder. During an evening home watching television, the news reports that a swarm of cicada (Brood Ten) are expected to overwhelm the entire Northeast. Brood Ten is vicious and ready to invade. During a sweltering summer night, Brood Ten emerges and wreaks havoc with the electric grid, phone and cell service, wi-fi, food and water supply. Civilization as they know it is gone. Seth and Lara are thrown back to the stone age in their own home with trillions of cicada trying to deposit their eggs and breed. Fast paced and filled with tension, Brood Ten is the perfect summer read when you’re sitting outside listening to the cicadas sing.

Excerpt:

The wail of sirens rent the air, and Seth burst through the front door holding the camera to see what was happening. Lara followed him out with a dishrag clenched in her hands.
“What’s going on now?” she asked nervously.
“I don’t know,” Seth responded. “I heard a crash.
It was loud. Look there it is,” he pointed to the end of the block. “Stay inside.” Lara retreated into the house.
A crowd of people had gathered around two cars that had hit each other head on. The black BMW was badly banged up. The chassis was nearly bent in half and steam rose from its hood. The air bag deployed and filled the entire front of the car. The door was open and a man was sitting in the driver’s seat, talking on his cell phone.
A silver Prius rested atop a broken fire hydrant.
A geyser of water roared as it shot ten feet into the air.
Sitting on the curb, a dazed woman was holding a towel to her bloody nose. His neighbor Cathy
dashed out of her house to comfort the woman.
“Are you OK?” Seth wandered over to the stricken woman.
“I don’t know what happened,” the woman replied. “I was driving and out of nowhere the whole windshield was covered by bugs.”
“Cicadas?” Seth inquired.
“I don’t know what they were. But there were a lot of them. The wipers couldn’t get rid of them
quick enough. They just kept coming.”
Seth walked away as the woman started cry. He looked at the totaled car. A brown residue of bug
guts smeared the windshield.
Police cars started rolling down the street and pretty soon the chaotic mess got sorted out.
A cop walked over to survey the scene next to Seth. He turned to the policeman and asked, “What do you make of this?”
The officer shrugged his shoulders and replied, “Probably just a swarm.”
***
Later that night, Lara curled against Seth’s side, they watched the evening news.
The newscaster was concluding a segment, “There are widespread and unprovoked bug attacks all over the tri-state area today causing accidents and mayhem everywhere. Although it was very disturbing, the governor is assuring everyone to remain calm. Cicadas usually die within a day or two. He is urging people not to panic.”
“I feel so bad for Cathy,” Lara’s blue eyes welled with tears. “She loved that dog. This is getting scary, Seth.” “You heard what the cops said. They probably disturbed a nest. That’s what happened in Arizona too you know, with the killer bees. They have people there who just take out the nests for a living.”
“What about the car accident?” Lara asked.
Seth put a finger over her soft lips. “They told us not to be concerned. The cops were here in four minutes, and animal control said not to blow it out of proportion. Enough!” he kissed her lightly. “I said enough.”

Release Blitz: JAMISON by Niquel

Title: Jamison
Series: Spasm Rockers #1
Author: Niquel
Genre: New Adult
Release Date: September 21, 2016
Some people call it puppy love,

But I know the truth.

Even though we were kids, too young to know better,
I knew.
I was absolutely head-over-heels in love with Cody Jamison.
There wasn’t a moment in my life that he wasn’t a part of.
There wasn’t a part of me that didn’t belong to him.
And just as I was about to tell him…
He left.
Left town.
Left me.
Shattering my heart into pieces.
But now, he’s back.
Just like that.
But, we’re no longer those bright-eyed little kids we once were.
He just re-emerged,
Claiming a spot as the lead guitarist in my brother’s band,
As if nothing ever changed.
But it did.
Everything's different now.
And I won't let this asshole strum his way back in,
Reclaiming my heart,
Not without an explanation.
He’s going to have to work for it,
For me.
Cody Jamison can’t have me,
Until I have the truth.
"Oh my!!! This book was amazing." ~Paula, 5 Star Goodreads Review

"This book will take you on an awesome roller coaster of emotions from the very beginning to the last page." ~Victoria, 5 Star Goodreads Review

"This is my first book by author Niquel, but it definitely will not be my last! I absolutely loved the story of Cody (CJ) and Shannon!" ~Penny, 5 Star Goodreads Review

“Oh my God, Shan, quit being a wuss!”
“I can't, it's too high!” I yelled down at my brother, who was safe on the ground. I don’t know why I let him talk me in to doing stupid things like this.
“C’mon, Shanny, just put your foot in the holes and jump when you get to the last one,” CJ egged on.
Anytime he was around and asked me to do something, the fear inside of me went away. “Okay.”
One.
Two.
Three.
“Ouch!”
“Holy crap, are you all right?” My brother asked, as the sky spun behind his and CJ’s heads.
“My head hurts really bad.”
“Dang, I’ll go and get Mom. Can you stay with her, CJ?” He nodded his head, and then helped me sit up. He kept looking at me funny with his eyes; eyes that were the color of chocolate.
“Why are you looking at me like that?”
“I was looking at the small dots across your face. What are they?”
I placed my hands over my face, and rubbed my cheeks, wishing they would come off. “My mommy calls them ‘freckles’ and I hate them.”
“Why?”
"Because people are always teasing me about them. Mom said I got them from being in the sun too much."
"So let's call them sun kisses! The sun loved your face so much, it left little kisses behind."
I giggled so hard, that it made my head hurt more. CJ was almost thirteen, like my older brother, but he made me feel fuzzy inside.
